As you well know by now, I love having things organized. My collection of recipes is no different! I’ve tried so many recipe apps and today I’m sharing with you my top pick for recipe organization! I love to cook (when I have time), which means I have tons of recipes to keep track of! I am partnering with ChefTap Recipe App to bring you an exciting giveaway – the chance to win a ONE YEAR subscription to ChefTap Pro! I’ve been a ChefTap Pro member for a couple years now and I truly love using this recipe app in my kitchen. I love that ChefTap was created by two people who truly love to cook! Here are my favorite features of Cheftap: Importing! This is HUGE for me. I find the majority of my recipes online or on Pinterest, so being able to import quickly from these sites is huge. Yep, that’s right…you can import from Pinterest. Cool! Sometimes I have to make minor edits when importing, but overall, I’ve had great success with this and I love this feature. The Make List. I use this feature every single time I’m cooking. I love that it allows me to quickly flip between recipes without having to search each time I flip back and forth! This feature comes in especially handy when I’m meal prepping for the week or freezer meal cooking. The recipe display on my iPad. I cannot tell you how much I love the fact that when I flip my iPad to a horizontal orientation, the app keeps the ingredients list on the left hand side in a column and puts the recipe instructions on the right hand side. This means that I can read the instructions AND the ingredients at the same time! How many times while making a recipe do you scroll up and down, up and down because the instructions tell you to add the spices, but for the life of you, you cannot remember how much you were supposed to have?!?! I also love that it keeps the display lit while I’m viewing a recipe. Tagging. I use tags to organize my recipes into categories that allow me to quickly find anything I’m looking for. (ChefTap has a great search feature as well, but I like to browse by tags when I’m planning meals for the week). If I need to find a quick appetizer, I can select my appetizer tag and view only my appetizer recipes. If I’m planning for freezer meal cooking, I can select my freezer meal tag and browse what I’ve got in my freezer meal list. Scaling. I love the fact that I can easily scale a recipe. For freezer cooking or if we want leftovers for lunch, I can easily double a recipe this way. If I don’t use this feature, it never fails that I get distracted by the boys and forget halfway through a recipe that I was making double! This way, I don’t even have to think about it. I also use this a lot to halve recipes if I’m just making enough for one meal. Quick and easy editing. It’s so easy to edit recipes. I’m notorious for not entirely following recipes! I love to put my own spin on things, but if I don’t write down what I did, I will definitely have forgotten by the next time I make the dish! This feature allows me to very quickly edit the recipe to customize it for our family’s tastes. Syncing between devices. I love that all of my devices stay synced. Quite often when I’m at the store, I’ll walk past the bakery and think, “Mmmm, I should make muffins…cupcakes…cookies…” I should really steer clear of the bakery department. But, for those times when I’m at the store and on impulse decide to make something I hadn’t planned for, I love that I can easily access my recipe from my phone! Sharing. Of course, last but not least, I love being able to easily share my recipes! My momma friends and I trade recipes all the time, so its super convenient to be able to quickly send them a recipe via ChefTap. Are you ready for the best part?!
